Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase

So first off, I wish SVS would do a video on the dual functionalities of this product. I am totally into HIFI/ hi Res audio. I am subscribed to Qobuz and I love it.

I know it has a built in 150 x 2 watt amplifier. I even plugged in both my Ultra Towers and it sounded great. But what I really wanted was a way to use this as a full on music streamer that does Hi Res audio connected to my 7.2.4 system. I ran both Left and Right RCA cables out of the sound Base line out ports directly to my Denon Receiver's Line in's as an input in the receiver.

So yes I don't use the wattage that this product is meant for but more as an integrated Hi Res device streamer all over WIFI.

Gen 1 Soundbase's setup is somewhat clunky but once you are able to get it online and connected it works wonders.

I will be doing a review of the Prime Wireless Pro Speakers soon which the DTS play FI setup experience is way better!.

So please SVS you guys are under selling this SoundBase's capabilites. Show people it connects to what people already have in there system!!!

Nothing will match the power for price and the features for price of this unit. Good bang for the buck there. That's 4 stars alone.

But it's not 5 stars for a couple reasons. Some of which might not be SVS's fault, but it'll still be perceived as such. And two things they could improve.

One, ARC/eARC standards must be loose around the technology world. You do not get consistent behavior when using these units (I have two) on different TV brands (I have one with a Visio and one with a TCS).

Two, streaming via Airplay2 is a much better experience than with Chromecast. Again, probably not SVS's fault, more likely the Android phone or the app's (that's in use) implementation of Chromecast is more likely at blame.

Here's two things I'd like to see improved by SVS which they do have control of.

One, make the level of the physical inputs match the level of streaming. The volume needed to watch a movie or tv show at the same sound level as streaming music is drastically different. Like double.

And can you add an equalizer please.? Even a simple 3 band would be nice. Many steaming apps (internet radio is one example) only have volume and no way to curve the acoustics to personal taste.

Even with those four complaints, I'll probably still buy another one for cranking tunes in the garage.

Paired this SoundBase with SVS's Prime Pinnacle tower speakers. I was looking for a quality solution for connecting my HP Envy laptop & Pandora via Bluetooth... Extremely easy to set up with absolutely amazing sound quality!!

Been an audiophile since teenager with many systems over the years. I am amazed at the power and clarity from such a small footprint as compared to my Pioneer SA-9800.
